NEBRASKA STRATEGIC PLAN
2021-2023
The Strategic Plan provides for continuous review and updating of identified steps that implement the seven purposes, the mission, and vision of the Society. The status of the major areas is to be reviewed biennially at a meeting of the Nebraska State Advisory Committee.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.
VISION STATEMENT
Leading Women Educators impacting Education Worldwide
PURPOSES
To unite women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual fellowship.
To honor women who have given or who evidence a potential for distinctive serve in any field of education.
To advance the professional interest and position of women in education.
To initiate, endorse, and support desirable legislation or other suitable endeavors in the interests of education and of women.
To endow scholarships to aid outstanding women educators in pursuing graduate study and to grant fellowships to non-member women educators.
To stimulate the personal and professional growth of members and to encourage their participation in appropriate programs of action.
To inform members of current economic, social, political, and educational issues so that they may participate effectively in a world society.
Structure, Implementation, and Monitoring of the Strategic Plan
The plan is divided into goals (broad focus areas addressing current challenges): initiatives (possibilities); and objectives (measurable results).
Each member of the Advisory Committee will be given a copy. Accountability for reaching the goals rests with the State Executive Board.
The Strategic Plan Committee will review the Plan prior to the 2022 Fall Advisory Committee meeting and will note progress and review with the board any new opportunities and challenges that may impact results.
The latest review and revision date will be noted on the updated Plan, and the Plan will be posted on the NE-DKG website.

Objective 1.A.1 Communicate the value of membership
Objective 1.A.2 Define role of members
Objective 1.A.3 Provide mentoring for new and current members
Objective 1.A.4 Expand offerings at state events
Goal 2. Leadership
Initiative 2.A Create leadership opportunities for all members
Objective 2.A.1 Provide leadership training through a variety of media
Objective 2.A.2 Train leaders to advocate for educational law and policy
Initiative 2.B Enhancing leadership opportunities
Objective 2.B.1 Recognize women leaders in different fields of education
Objective 2.B.2 Empower members to take leadership roles

Objective 3.A.1 Develop resources that support the financial needs of NE-DKG
