We are the Nebraska representative of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, an organization that seeks to promote and nurture outstanding women educators in our seventeen member nations and through many benevolent projects, women and children in nations far beyond those in our Society.
Our state organization was established in 1936 by fifteen key women educators who gathered in Lincoln, Nebraska with an educational vision and lofty goals in mind. Those dedicated Founders included:
Inspired by the women who formed Alpha Chapter in Austin, Texas seven years earlier, our Nebraska founders sought to encourage and promote women in education and to lift the status of the teaching profession in our state.
